Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as treatment for:

  • Trauma Recovery & PTSD

  • Grief/Loss

  • Anxiety Issues

Welcome! My name is Katherine Lincicum and I am honored to begin this journey of healing and self-exploration with you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington (LW 60841215). I earned my BA at Whitworth University in 2006, and my MSW and MPH at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2014. I have experience working with adolescents as a school mental health counselor, and adults in the inpatient and outpatient medical setting. My social work and public health training allow me to take a person-centered approach while still seeing the larger systemic factors that affect a person’s wellbeing.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have centered my clinical practice on using this treatment strategy. EMDR uses eye movements (and other bilateral stimulation) to activate the brain’s natural healing mechanisms to process traumatic events and memories. It was developed initially for trauma, but has been shown to be effective for a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, and relationship concerns. EMDR is a unique treatment strategy and may not be appropriate for all individuals. In addition to EMDR, I also use Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Meditation, Supportive Counseling, and Grief therapy.
