Matthew Kirshman, MA, MSW, LSWAIC
(He/him/his)
Hi, I’m Matthew Kirshman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Associate (LCSWA) with the state of Washington (SC61610486). I earned my BA in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut, my MA in English Literature from Central Connecticut State University, and my MSW from Simmons University. I was a middle school teacher for many years before transitioning to social work.
I believe in the power of psychotherapy: by examining our challenges in a relational context we can get to the heart of who we are. I’m experienced in fostering authentic relationships across a range of ages and identities as a basis for exploring strengths, goals, and life-affirming strategies. As an integrative therapist, I provide a person-centered, strength-based approach through several modalities of care, including attachment-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, emotionally-focused therapy, narrative therapy, couples therapy, and mindfulness.
