Counseling West Seattle is home to twelve dedicated counselors ready to support your mental health needs.
It’s Fall, which means shorter days, cooler nights, and new back-to-school routines. Don’t forget to put your own wellbeing on the list, too! Now is the perfect time to schedule an appointment with one of our excellent counselors.
We offer both in-person and telehealth sessions, with availability during the day, afternoon, and evening.
Let’s meet the team!

Alexa Harmon – MEd, NCC, LMHC, CCM
Alexa has been with us for 3 years and works remotely with adults and teenagers. She
specializes in issues relating to neurodivergence, life changes, and menopause, and also conducts Reunification Therapy.

Aubrey Hardesty – PsyD, Licensed Psychologist
Aubrey has been part of our team for 5 years, working in-office three days a week with children, teens, adults, and couples. She leads an ongoing Women’s Group on Mondays and is launching a curriculum-based group for New Moms in January, with co-leader Emily Rorhdanz.

Colette Swenson – MEd, LMHCA
Colette, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate pursuing her full licensure, has been with us for 3 years. She sees children, teens, adults, and couples three days a week in person. Her background in school counseling enhances her work with families and kids.

Elliot Grossman – MSW, LICSW – Clinical Director
Elliot has been with Counseling West Seattle for 10 years. He specializes in discernment counseling for marriages and works with adults and couples three days a week. As a senior team member, Elliot supervises associates and helps ground new counselors.

Emily Rohrdanz – MSW, LSWAIC
Emily has been with us for almost a year, working in-office three days a week. She has a special focus on supporting new mothers as they navigate pregnancy, post-partum challenges, and early motherhood, and will be co-leading our New Moms therapy group alongside Aubrey Hardesty.

Eric Mulholland – MA, LMHCA
Eric joined us 2 years ago and provides remote counseling. An associate on his path to full licensure, he specializes in art therapy, as well as issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.

Ernie McGarry – MA, LMHC
Ernie has been with us for a decade, working remotely with adults, teens, and couples. He is especially skilled in couples counseling.

Karen Coppock – MA, LMHCA, PhD Candidate
Karen, our most recent addition, balances her position as a counselor with her PhD studies. When not working on her doctoral dissertation, she works with clients (especially young adults) three days a week, in person & remotely.

Katherine Lincicum – MSW, MPH, LICSW
Katherine has been with us for 2 years. She sees clients in the office on Fridays, otherwise working as a school counselor. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a technique that aims to use eye motions to address and process trauma & anxiety.

Katlin Kellow – MA, LMHC
Katlin has been part of our team for 2 years, seeing clients in person on Mondays, and remotely the rest of the week. Formerly an LMHC Associate, Katlin has recently attained her full licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor!

Stacey Schmitt – MSW, LICSW
Stacey recently completed her first year with us. She works in the office twice a week and offers telehealth three days a week. Stacey brings valuable experience from her time at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, particularly with young adults, her experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and over twenty-five years in the mental health field.

Matthew Kirshman – MA, MSW, LSWAIC
Joining us at the same time as Emily, Matthew is also closing out his first year with CWS. He works in the office four days a week—including Saturdays—seeing adults and couples. He has a strong interest in relationship dynamics; check out his blog article on the effects of gendered life experiences on couples’ dynamics!
